The services of welfare consultants are already showing positive results.

In order for you to better understand how consultations take place, we share the success story of one such consultation cycle:

A woman turned to a Well-Being Consultant because of her anxiety in the evenings. The purpose of counseling is to learn how to manage anxiety. The woman said that in the evenings she is overwhelmed by anxiety, during anxiety she feels more frequent heartbeat, dizziness, fear. These symptoms lasted for 10-20 minutes and disappeared. The first task was the identification of the symptoms experienced by the woman, the client was listened to, the Welfare consultant helped her understand that her experiences are important. Next, it was explained to the applicant what panic attacks are and why these physical sensations arise. It was important for the woman to realize that the symptoms she is experiencing are the body’s preparation for defense against a threat – panic attacks, and most importantly, no matter how unpleasant the sensations are, they are not dangerous. After the woman spoke up and realized that the symptoms she was experiencing were known and experienced by a significant number of people, it became easier to accept her feelings. The next step was to delve deeper into what thoughts and interpretations arise during a panic attack in order to clarify dysfunctional thoughts and replace them with rational ones. During the consultations, the client learned breathing regulation – diaphragmatic breathing, which helped to calm down and reduce the symptoms experienced during a panic attack. After the cycle of consultations, the woman said that she reacts more calmly to rising anxiety, understands what is happening to her and is able to manage it.
