Expectations and reality of motherhood

Information technologies, which occupy a large part of our daily lives, are designed to make life easier for all of us, and often become a source of self-doubt. Social networks often capture the beautified, unrealistic everyday life of opinion makers, causing stress and envy of the supposedly ideal life and easy living, which especially affects the most emotionally vulnerable persons. An example of this can be mothers, especially those who are new to this role, who do not yet have experience in raising children, face many daily challenges, lack support from those around them, or receive only reproaches and disapproval.
It is good that there are more and more people who are determined to publicly show their real, unadorned everyday life, to share the difficulties and challenges that arise, to show not only the beautiful side of motherhood.
However, among the most popular opinion makers with the most followers, only those who share ideal, idyllic moments dominate – mothers, fathers giving the impression that their real everyday life is a perfectly clean house, always obedient, well-disposed children, children are served the most elaborate dishes, which should be spent preparing in the kitchen for a few hours, and the children are fully educated, taught every day from the very first days.
It is not surprising that such a formed reality allows you to downplay your role as a mother, especially when you have your first child, when, without gaining enough experience, it is easy to believe that this supposed reality is real, and to doubt yourself that you are not a good enough mother or father.
If you are also suffering from a similar feeling, contact a well-being consultant and learn how to get rid of intrusive thoughts and negative emotions that we ourselves create in our head.
If you know a mom or dad who often seems tired or frustrated – support them, help them, show them that you understand and care about them, and invite them to talk to a well-being counselor.
